Body fat

It is measured by several techniques like hydrostatic weighing, BOD POD, DEXA. These are costly and need special instruments to calculate body fat. The simplest methods used are skin calipers and bioelectric impedance analysis usually by gyms and health clubs. Skin calipers measure thickness of the fat under the skin which helps to calculate body fat.

Research indicates men have15-18% of body fat while women have 20-25%.
