Weight gain is a major concern among people today and so is constipation. When the frequency of our bowel movements gets reduced, it leads to constipation. Constipation is also caused due to dehydration, a change in lifestyle or food, taking certain medication, lack of physical abilities and other such factors. When people say that they gain weight because of constipation, they are not wrong but they are based on very few theories. Weight gain is caused due to repressed metabolism which is due to the inability of the body to let go of its accumulated fecal matter, in other words, constipation.


Moreover the gathered waste materials in the body also cause weight gain. Constipation also causes water reduction in our body which also increases the body weight. So in a way constipation is directly related to weight gain. Most of us gain weight due to lack of physical exercise and other health problems among which constipation can also be a major reason. Thus, in order to reduce your weight, you must include a lot of vegetables in your diet so that your digestive system gets smoothened and you get rid of excess weight. Don’t let constipation ruin your lifestyle and switch over to a hassle free life.
